Could you be the new Club Secretary?

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW CLUB SECRETARY! COULD IT BE YOU?

By Anne Croft, HRR Club Secretary

I will be stepping down at the end of February, so we are looking for someone keen to be more involved in the club to take on this role. If you have ever thought, “that sounds interesting but…” – let me reassure you:

  • Lots of people have already applied…
They haven’t! The role is still available, and we are very keen to find the right person and give them the support they need.

  • I don’t have the skills…
You absolutely do. No special experience is needed for this role which is why it is ideal for anyone thinking they would like to be more involved, are organised and enjoy working with others.

  • It must take loads of time…
Mostly the work involves a little preparation before and after meetings, updating policies, taking minutes and answering enquiries, but it is very manageable.

Our committee meets approximately every six weeks, and it is made up of friendly, supportive people who are passionate about developing the club. With a good mix of new and long-standing members, it is the perfect time to get involved and bring fresh ideas to help shape our club’s future.

There will be an opportunity to shadow the role prior to committing. So why not come along to our next meeting and see what it is like. I am happy to answer any questions. I have genuinely enjoyed being Club secretary but now it is time for someone new to join the team. So, if you are interested, please get in touch. You can email me directly on: secretary@hartroadrunners.co.uk.
