Save the Date: HRR Basingstoke Canal Clean-Up Morning
Sunday 20th September 2026
Fellow Hart Road Runners — pop this one in your diary now! We’re organising a community clean-up morning along the beautiful Basingstoke Canal, and we’d love as many of you as possible to come along.
What’s it all about?
Running through our local area every week, we see first-hand how special the canal towpath is — and sadly, we also see the litter that can accumulate. This is our chance to give something back to the environment that gives us so many brilliant miles of running.
Join us for a morning of community spirit, fresh air, and the satisfaction of making a visible difference to one of our favourite local routes.
Why come along?
- Help keep our community safe and clean — a tidier towpath benefits everyone: walkers, cyclists, wildlife, and of course us runners
- Share a morning with fellow club members — a brilliant way to get to know faces beyond the usual training sessions
- Be proud of making a difference — there’s nothing quite like stepping back and seeing the transformation you’ve helped create
BBQ & Pizzas to Follow!
Because no Hart Road Runners event would be complete without refreshments, we’ll be rounding off the morning with a well-earned BBQ and pizzas. A perfect reward after a great morning’s work, and a chance to catch up properly with the club.
What to expect
All equipment will be provided — litter pickers, bags, gloves, and high-vis vests. Just turn up in clothes and footwear you don’t mind getting a bit mucky. The pace will be gentle (no PBs required!), and the event is suitable for all ages and abilities.
More details coming soon
We’re finalising the meeting point, start time, and a few other logistics, and we’ll share full details in the coming weeks. For now, just get the date in your diary — Sunday 20th September 2026 — and keep an eye on the website and club socials for the full briefing.
Any questions in the meantime, drop us a message. Hope to see loads of you there!
