What an amazing event!! About 25 Hart Road Runners starting from various locations along the Basingstoke canal – from anywhere between 2 and long as 22 miles out… and timed to converge onto the Fox & Hounds pub at 1pm! Well done to the Social Committee for organising another brilliant event 🙂
Join us for the HRR Basingstoke Canal Relay, a special club event where we aim to cover the full length of the Basingstoke Canal in one day, while raising money for our club charity.
The idea is simple: runners start from different points along the canal, gradually joining together as the route gets closer to Fleet, before everyone finishes at The Fox and Hounds Pub in Church Crookham for a well-earned celebration.
Whether you want to take on a longer run, join for a shorter stretch, run with friends, or simply be part of a brilliant club day, there will be an option for you.

Tables will be reserved at The Fox and Hounds, so you can choose whether to stay for food, a drink, or just a post-run catch-up.
There will be several starting points along the canal, beginning from both the Weybridge and Greywell ends.
You choose the distance that suits you best, then run from your chosen starting point towards the finish at The Fox and Hounds.
Runners starting further away will gradually be joined by runners beginning from later checkpoints, creating a rolling club relay atmosphere along the canal. The aim is for groups to naturally come together and finish as one big HRR group.

Please communicate with others to coordinate lifts and travel arrangements. We have chosen starting locations that are accessible by car and train wherever possible.
Estimate how long your run will take, then work backwards from the 1:00pm finish time to calculate when you should begin.
