Photos – Social Run – Fox & Hounds

Thanks to Lynne and Lucie for leading everyone on a baking hot Thursday evening social run.  As you can see, everyone ran together as a big group… which is now standard for our Thursday evening runs. Usually, some of the faster runners break off the front, and loop back – but not on this occasion… simply too hot!  

What’s lovely about these runs is the fact that you can live in an area for years, and discover new trails, paths, and parks. 

The Fox & Hounds pub provided some much needed refreshments, along-side the canal after the run.

And most importantly, we collected around 5 large bags of donations for the local Food Bank – which Lynne will drop off on Friday.

This Thursday’s Social run (10th July) will start from the Fox & Hounds pub in Fleet… a lovely location right on the banks of the Basingstoke canal.

Our Social Committee have linked up with the local Foodbank and will be collecting food donations.

The run will be led by Lynne Rashleigh and as usual there will also be a walking group.

Please meet at 7 pm at Fox and Hounds, 71 Crookham Road, GU51 5NP.

We’re asking all members to kindly bring along donations for Hart food bank to our evening run. Donations will be collected before the run begins and delivered to the food bank.

The food bank has recently suffered another break-in, so any support we can offer at this time will be especially appreciated. 

The Hart food bank is a lifeline for many families and depend on the generosity of local communities like ours.

Most needed items at the moment include:

• Tinned fruit
• Tinned potatoes
• Long-life milk
• Washing-up liquid
Additional useful items:
• Cereal, porridge
• Tinned foods: soup, beans, spaghetti, tomatoes, meat meals, fish, potatoes, fruit, rice pudding, custard
• Packets: soup, mashed potato, microwavable rice
• Dry goods: pasta, rice, noodles
• Cooking sauces & spreads (sweet or savoury)
• Treats: biscuits, chocolate, savoury snacks, Angel Delight, jelly
• Drinks: UHT milk, juice, squash
• Toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, razors, shaving foam
• Household cleaning products: washing-up liquid, laundry tablets, etc.
