Coaches Sarah and Lizzie led a group of 16 Hart Road Runners who braved the hill-reps session on the grass this week (The Views)… in 28-degree heat, no less!
The coaches of course made sure everyone took adequate recovery and rehydration breaks in the shade.
Mad as it felt at the time, hill sessions are brilliant for building leg strength and power, and they sharpen your running form for when you’re back on the flat.
Doing them on grass is kinder on the joints too, while making your feet and ankles work that bit harder. And running in the heat brings its own bonus: it builds heat tolerance that’ll pay off on those warm race days. Tough session, but a good one… well done to everyone who got stuck in!
